Berm Construction in Watford (Rediscovering the River Colne project)

Date: Wednesday 12th April

Time: 09:30 -16:00

Location: Knutsford Playing Fields, Watford

Berm construction day.

Groundwork are looking for additional volunteers to help them complete the berm construction (more details on what this is here) on the River Colne at Knutsford Playing Fields in Watford. This involves constructing wooden brush habitat to re-instate the lost bends and curves the river once had.

The day is great fun; get to know fellow volunteers and help make meaningful change to the river which will impact habitat and diversity for years to come.

Ideally, if you have some experience entering water with waders, that is helpful, but no experience is really necessary and an induction will be provided.

We will provide chest waders if you let us know sizes in advance, you just need to bring warm clothes, some change of clothes, a towel, food, drink and any personal medication.  We have the use of the Rugby Club at lunchtime to shelter and grab a warm drink.

Capacity 8 volunteers first come, first served.

To sign up, please fill out the Rallly.co poll with your name and what size waders (boot size) you'd need here: https://rallly.co/p/UyOcDi97TlWN
