Project description

Project led by the River Chess Association to restore nature river function through installation of Large Woody Debris features.

The River Chess Association have led a series of work parties for volunteers from businesses, the Environment Agency and the local community to enhance the River Chess at Latimer Park.  The river channel in this location is overwide and lacks structure so, using skills learned at a Wild Trout Trust habitat enhancement workshop held on the river in 2012, the Association have installed a number of woody debris features to increase flow diversity and enhance habitat for fish and wildlife.
