Project description

Improvements to a stretch of historical river bank and footpath to improve access, biodiversity and raise awareness of the areas heritage as an area where parishioners have the right to cut reed and throw mud!

Activities included:

  • repairing a bridge which allows access
  • coppice and pollard over grown willow to improve safety for walkers and increase biodiversity along the bank and in the river by letting in more light
  • Involve the local community through volunteer conservation work parties
