Groundwork South organised a Floating Pennywort removal session with corporate volunteers from Britvic on the River Bulbourne in Hemel Hempstead on Wednesday 30th November.

The event was lead by Laura Hunt and Joshua Bowes, River Officers at Groundwork South.

Laura said…

“It was a pleasure to work with the Britvic team, who got stuck into pennywort removal and towpath access in Hemel Hempstead. The group supported each other and worked well as a team to try and catch every last fragment of pennywort. It was refreshing to see their enthusiasm and passion for the environmental impacts of pennywort on the river Bulbourne and we'd welcome them back in an instant!”

Although hard work, the Britvic team also enjoyed the experience. They said…

"It was a fantastic opportunity to get outside in the fresh air with colleagues, and a hands-on way to learn more about local waterways and what we can do to help the environment.” Callum

“I had so much fun and really enjoyed meeting lots of new people as well. I’ll be recommending it to the rest of my team to do the next one!” Heidi

“A fantastic day with a great bunch of people. Really enjoyed helping the planet but also working on our wellbeing too!” Madeleine
