Two workshops are taking place in April 2019, to train new volunteers in how to become Riverfly Monitors.

If you are interested in the health of your local river and would you like to learn more about its ecology, this workshop is for you!

The one-day workshops, organised by the Chilterns, Hertfordshire & Middlesex Riverfly Hub, provide comprehensive training in the Angler’s Riverfly Monitoring Initiative (ARMI) survey technique and include presentations, practical demonstrations and active involvement by participants at the riverside. Supported by a comprehensive written guide to the methodology and post-course support from the tutors, you will be shown how to how to kick survey and identify pollution sensitive riverflies, register a sample site and report pollution incidents to the Environment Agency.

The next two workshops are being held on:

  • Saturday 13th April - at Digswell, Welwyn Garden City (River Mimram)
  • Saturday 27th April - at Latimer Park, Chesham (River Chess)
