Join the Ver Valley Society in Verulamium Park this coming Sunday to protest against the disappearance of the River Ver and the Chilterns precious chalk rivers.

Chalk streams of the Colne and Lea catchments are in crisis and facing a fight for survival. A combination of climate change and over abstraction to supply our ever-rising demand for water has left rivers like the Ver in a dire state.

Sunday 22nd September is World Rivers Day and the Ver Valley Society are calling on all citizens who care about their disappearing rivers to join them in Verulamium Park, St. Albans to protest at the state of the river and campaign for better protection of our chalk rivers. Please support them if you can. For more details visit the event webpage.
