An exciting new Geography fieldwork skills-based programme called ‘Riverfly for Schools’ is taking place and we are currently recruiting local schools to take part.

This free, fully supported programme is being delivered to give young people the opportunity to go out and assess the health of their local river through practical fieldwork. It is linked in to GCSE Geography specifications and is aimed at Year 9’s Geographers who will be starting their GCSE syllabus in September or during the summer term (2018).

The first phase of this programme is taking place during the upcoming Summer term 2018 and runs in 3 stages:

1.      1) Classroom introductory session (at school- approximately 1 hour)

2.       2) Fieldwork day (in Denham Country Park - 1 full day)

3.       3) Follow up material (at school, led by subject teacher- optional, full resource pack provided)

Thames21 are delivering this programme on behalf of Affinity Water with no cost to the schools involved.
