5 day-long workshops run by the Wild Trout Trust to give you the skills, tools and techniques to carry out river habitat enhancement work.

We will concentrate on the skills associated with installing woody debris features such as deflectors and brash berms. The workshops are aimed at anyone working on rivers, from fishery managers to conservation volunteers. The aim is to give you the knowledge and techniques to be able to replicate what you have learnt to improve rivers elsewhere. Equipment, materials and lunch will be provided, you will just need to wear suitable clothes and bring waders if you have them.  Over the last two years we have had over 200 people attend these workshops, with lots of good feedback.

"It is the hands-on experience that makes the day"

"Being able to see the results of relatively simple measures taken in the river was fascinating"

There are five workshops taking place at three sites during August 2015:

Monday 24 August  River Ver

Tuesday 25 August River Colne

Wednesday 26 August River Colne

Thursday 27 August River Misbourne

Friday 28 August River Misbourne

If you are interested please let us know all the dates you can make and if you have a preference, by Monday 20 July. With a possible 100 places available, we hope to be able to offer a place to everyone who wants to attend.

If you would like to come along to watch, but don't want to participate in the practical aspects, that’s fine too! Let us know if you’re planning on coming along to watch and we'll send you more details nearer the time.
